I have decided to complete my BSN at this time because it felt right! I took a break from school after completing my RN and decided it was time to advance my career. To be completely honest, I’m not sure if I’ll change positions after obtaining my BSN, but it will hopefully help me to at least further improve my skills and knowledge in the field as I continue my nursing journey. I also have been motivated by the need to support my little family.

Outlining my week ahead of time to determine when I am available to complete assignments will enable me to be successful. Being proactive and having a plan that works for you are keys to success(Sanders, E. 2019).

It looks like completing this class will provide exposure to APA formatting and experience that will further enable success in the continue online environment. When the basics, such as information literacy, are learned early, the process of academic writing becomes seamless and achievable(Dean, 2022).

Whenever I planned to move to the US in 2021, it was one of my unfulfilled ambitions to get a baccalaureate degree BSN. After joining Hendrick Medical Center (medical surgery floor-MSF), which was my first assignment in the US, I struggled a lot to get in lane to a totally different new system from a paper-pen system. But by Gods mercy, my mentor was so patient to me, and she could guide me well. While working in the MSF, I was sick with cervical and lumbosacral disc issues. Even after treatment, pain is still hounding me. That is my concern right now. But, with my determination, I hope I can get along with my peers and be a successful BSN. When my nursing manager interviewed me, I promised her I would get BSN as early as possible. I always keep my promise.

As stated by (Akins, 2022), “Stop wasting time and learn to manage it. Think of your schedule as allotting time to get the work done, but also think of schedules as allowing time for your other pursuits in life, like your social life. It’s the schedule that allows for these other pursuits to be attained. It’s not just that a schedule sets aside time for work or studying, it also carves out the rest of the time for you to do whatever you want.” Collaboration and communication with peers and teachers, critical thinking and problem-solving, efficient study techniques, and self-care and wellbeing are the other traits.

Some of the strategies to become a successful student are discovering your learning style and being familiar with methods that will make you productive. Staying organized and using the services provided by the school and the instructors, and also reviewing your notes regularly helps you increase your chances of retaining information. After every class, reread your notes to ensure you understand the material.

Great to learn about your persistence to complete your BSN despite your health challenge. I agree with your quote of Atkins (2022) that time management also means allocating time for our preferred extracurricular activities. This is in line with WGU (2021) that advises nursing students to ensure they allocate time for self-care

I admire your determination to persevere despite your health issues. Perseverance is also a good trait to have in order to become a successful nursing student. I agree with your statement “stop wasting time and learn to manage it”. Avoiding procrastination and learning to be pro active can cut down unnecessary stressors. Developing good habits and staying productive will benefit our success in school.

Thank you for sharing. I’m sorry to hear about the illness related to your back. Wishing you a fast recovery. From your post, you seem to be a strong person who just keeps pushing forward regardless of difficult challenges. You also mentioned time management as one way to be a successful student. This is also true in school and when working on the floor. I also work on a MSF and I completely understand the challenges.
